We took I90 to exit 9 and then Alt 14 into Cody, WY. It is a beautiful drive but it also has some steep climbs. I did pass a DP pulled off to the side which I assume was to let things cool down. The steepest part is shortly after you exit I90 but after that the drive is fairly flat and the scenery is great. Elevations exceed 9000 feet so if you are not sure that your rig can handle the altitude you may not want to take this route. There are some turns but any size rig should be able to negotiate the road. It is one of the scenic routes through Wyoming. It is open range through the area so you do have to be watchful of cattle and sheep that may wander out in to the road.
We stayed last year in the Buffalo Bill State Park but the reservoir level is down so there was a little walk to the water's edge. Nice place to stay.
