The locals don't even like to pull their stock trailers on 14.
Years ago we pulled a tent trailer up and over Highway 14. Needless to say the transmission was in 2nd gear going down towards Cody. Didn't even think of taking 14A. Next time we took 16.
We took 14A last October, we had no problems at all, even with an HHR in tow. The road does get a little steep at times, climbs to 9000+, but the road is very well paved, plenty wide enough, and is a scenic highway in Wyoming. Maybe things have changed in recent years because the road looked like it had been recently paved.
