NO! You're not out of luck.
Sorry for your health problems...hope they straighten out soon so you can enjoy camping again.
Reading your post, it appears the dealer did what they were supposed to do at the time of sale. They gave you your temporary plate to take back to your home state for registration. Unfortunately you weren't able to complete the transaction at that time, so now the monkey is on your back. I would gather whatever paperwork you have, bill of sale, temp plate, cancelled check etc and take that to your local motor vehicle registration dept. They will be able to guide you through the process. The Florida dealer can't do anything for you. Do a VIN check; a lot of them are free, but in your case I'd do a complete check. They are less than $50. Take that to the MV dept as well. Be prepared though, if you haven't paid your sales tax on the coach, there may be fees and penalties due... best of luck ... Dennis
The OP has NO TITLE. They never sent one. So, how are they supposed to proceed without a title? Doug
Apparently some states seldom issue a paper title , Florida may
be like that . If you must have one they generate one from their
computer records .
I wanted to purchase a MOHO from an individual in Florida .
The coach was not paid for , there was a note at Bank of America .
I said that's fine we'll go to your bank and pay it off they can
hand me the title . The banker said can't do that the title is
in No Carolina . I said have it sent to you so when I get there
we can buy the coach . Can't do that either , there isn't actually
a title up in No Carolina its in the computer . The best we can
do for you ( me )while here is a paper tag . I said forget about it
to many things to go wrong here .
Like Executive I would pursue it at home thru the state license
and title office . Be nice and plead mercy , they can help you if
they are willing to .
When I lived in Dallas I would not have expected much help from
them but now that I live near a small town the people in those
offices are completely different . Friendly and helpful always.
Maybe its because I buy 5 plates a yr from them :h
Explain something. The MSO is PAPER. You take an MSO to your local authority and get a PAPER TITLE. Now, if financed the DEALER takes the MSO to the Government authority and is issued a PAPER TITLE. Then the title is sent to the Finance company and is kept in a safe. When the note is paid OFF, the Finance authority signs off the PAPER TITLE and is sent to you. Now, how would it work if you had a "TITLE" in the "Computer"? I think you misunderstood want the bank person said or that Bank person had NO CLUE as to what you needed. Now, the REAL Title may have been scanned to the Computer, but there is still a Paper title somewhere at the bank. THAT Title will be sent once the Lien is paid off and released. Doug
