Had my motorhome in for some work at Olathe Ford RV. Went for a motorcycle ride today and thought I'll see how things are going. Cruised through the lot and saw my coach with the right rear all tore up. They backed it into another one. I was so pissed I couldn't even talk! They are going to fix it and admitted to the damage. But I talked to the service manager for about 30 minutes and not one time did he say sorry. I'm going to have to find a new place for service!
I'd have been even more p'd that they didn't "CALL" me WHEN it happened.
EXACTLY! Yes, stuff happens, but they REALLY needed to let you know the second it happened. I'd be as ticked about them not telling you upfront as I would be the damage itself.
I agree. But that asks the question "how long before the OP drove by the lot did the damage occur?" Did it occur 5, 15, or 60 minutes prior? Or did it occur 2 days prior?
If within a couple hours, I personally would be willing to give the benefit of the doubt that the dealership wanted to check it out and detail the damage before calling the OP (I'd rather get a call "we damaged your vehicle, here is what is damaged, this is what we're doing to fix it" instead of "we damaged the vehicle, we don't know how bad").
If over a day, I'd personally be more likely to be p'd about it (barring any legitimate reason for the delay - it happened at closing and they couldn't examine it until the following day, they needed the lift to do the inspection and another vehicle was on it with the axle removed, etc.).
