Never having owned an RV before, that's probably the best way to go. Deciding which size/style/class works for you is a big decision. You might decide you don't like any of them.
A lot depends on how you would use an RV. If you plan on short weekend trips, a smallish unit would probably work out fine, although for me a smaller unit wouldn't work too well on longer trips, with more than 1 person.
I've had 6 different RVs over the years started with a pop up then a travel trailer, a 22' class C, a slide in camper, a 24' class C and a 32 1/2' class C.
Way back in the early 2000s (had my first class C then) my wife decided she no longer liked Rvs(too much work she said). Since then all my outings have either been with my kids/kid or most often by myself.
About a year and a half ago my wife got back into RVing. Our plan is to do extended traveling when she retires in about two years. We decided that our 24' no slide MH, is a little too small for extended use, so we bought the much larger MH with a large slide out.
