HOW can you have an Agreement on price, when you state your trade in was an obstacle??????? Since you were obviously trading in, there could never have been an agreement on price. What you probably meant was- you had a agreement on the price of the new RV and the hold up was HOW MUCH they were giving you on your trade. What year/Brand/model were you trying to buy? They were NOT shady. You think they sold it out from under you. YOU did not have a firm deal and they sold to the customer that paid first. Money talks---BS walks, that is the world we live in. Doug

I, too, would find somewhere else to find a motorhome. I think it's good that you found out how they treat their customers before the deal.

We don't know their side of the story but just following your side, if the lack of communication is evident now, just think what it would have been like when you took possession of the motorhome and had problems?

Not sure what your trying to accomplish. I too think there are two sides to every story. I'm sure we'll never know the other side. If you were able to achieve selling your unit ( which you made all the money on) and obtain financing, go wherever you wish to buy what you want.

I'm thinking there was some agreement or consideration they were going to make some money off your old RV, and when you sold it on your own the deal didn't work for them. In the interim they found someone else willing to pay more for the one you wanted. You won by selling your old MH and they won selling theirs for more money. Win win in my book.

Did you give them a deposit?

Maybe they did you a favor, poor service before and after the sale is never good. Time to go out and look for a Winnie, Newmar or Tiffin could be a plan for after the sale support.

A: They did not want a deposit. I offered.

B: They did not want my trade (their words). I knew that would be the case so that is why I sold it.

C: I called and emailed every other day. I never got a single email returned or a phone call returned. When I did get to talk to someone I got the run around.

D: What am trying to achieve? I am sharing a bad experience. I welcome others that have dealt with this same place to tell us their stories of a good experience. I may be the exception to the rule. Then again I be the norm.


This is a forum so I would expect that if people had a bad experience buying an RV they would share it here.......just as I did.

Lesson learned....A contract is only a contract if it's WRITTEN, SIGNED and DEPOSIT accepted.....time to start your search again. At least you won't need the owner's manual....:W.....there's a better deal waiting out there for you and now you have financing lined up and no trade talk in your negotiations.....Dennis

All we are getting is your story which isn't adding up. First you said there was no response on there behalf on your trade - so you sold it. Now you say you knew they didn't want it. (Their words)Yet this seems to be a issue somehow.

You said that a price was agreed upon, yet there was no deposit wanted?? In my years of buying RV's a deposit is always asked for to secure the "one you want".That would tell me right there they didn't sell it out from under you. It was never yours to begin with, without a deposit and purchase agreement in writing.

I'm surprised that you actually thought a deal was in process. All we have is what your telling us, but it's not enough in this case to throw this dealer under the bus IMHO.
