I was, as always, speaking from personal experience, mostly here in Montana.
I know of one FS campground that has ONE space big enough for a coach larger than 36 feet. Well, let me rephrase that, I KNEW of one; a forest fire went across it some years ago, I don't know if it has reopened or not.
I would not even make the attempt to take a 40 footer or larger into Lid Creek Campground on Hungry Horse reservoir. In fact, I won't take my 32 foot down there!
There are, IIRC, 2 spaces at Lost Johnny Point Campground on Hungry Horse Reservoir that a 40 footer might fit in.
Ackley Lake State Park near Hobson, no problem. There are NO "spaces", just get your rig off the road.
Dead Man's Basin, the same.
Most of the FS campgrounds near Red Lodge MIGHT have a space where a big rig will fit. Some are iffy for my 32 footer!
Cooney Reservoir State Park might have a space or two for a big rig, I don't know. I know the only space that was available was a tight fit for my 11 foot camper on a Dodge 1 ton the last time I was there.
Most of these places are first-come, first-served, no reservations.
Good luck.
