I think you have to use common sense when tipping. No...you don't tip everyone, but you often tip specialized service like someone washing your coach. Here's how I see it. You have a guy come out and wash and wax your coach. He does a fantastic job on a hot day. You pay his standard fee. You call him to do it again and he puts you on a waiting list. He does the job, but this time it's only mediocre.
I have the same guy come out, he does a great job, I tip him a few extra bucks because I think he went above and beyond. I also provided him ice water all day and a chair to take a break in. Next time I call him, he comes out the day I need him and does a really nice job again.
How about treating/tipping people the way you would like to be treated.
