Dexter Keyless Door

Help! I have a class C 2014 jayco greyhawk and I was contacted to come over to where it was parked because the door was making noises. Upon arriving sure enough it was making a strange sound like it was trying to lock. I could only get in via the cab door. I could unlock it when I got in the RV but it kept trying to lock and the lock mechanism was moving on its own every time I tried to turn it. The sound only stops when I have the door open. Since it's Friday night and nobodiy is open, does anyone have a solution? I can't keep it open all night, I'm not camping, and it's been parked. outside. I am a female who has no electrical knowledge. Does it have a fuse and should I take that out until tomorrow to stop the noise?
  • The Jayco forum has several threads on these. Apparently they are quite troublesome.

  • Not familiar with the Dexter, but the ones I am have an internal battery, accessible only from the inside latch.

I looked it up, four AA batteries, remove one and it's a manual lock
  • Yes, it's got to have a fuse. I don't know if your C has both engine and house batteries, but if nothing else take the negative battery terminals off of the batteries to shut off all of the power.
