Diesel Exhaust Fluid
In what year of diesel engine build was diesel exhaust fluid first required? Which engines for DP, prior to the exhaust fluid requirement, were considered good engines?

Def is no big deal. They use about 2% of fuel and don't require filling very often but can be a pain to fill at the pump. The slight improvement in mpg offsets cost of the def.
