Diesel Prices

WE're in OR right now and noticed the strangest thing. Diesel at less than regular gas. This is just a regular station right on 97 North of Bend.

I have been seeing the differential dropping to 0.20 or so but this was the first time in ages I've seen it less than regular gas.

Diesel prices in Canada are typically lower than regular gas but it's all smoke and mirrors because the cost in Ontario right now is $1.35 per liter (that's $5.65 per US Gallon). I do very little travelling in Canada at that price but spend Nov - April in the US.

I can find it for $1.27/L, not a whole lot more expensive than NY State.
  • Refineries are currently not making heating oil! When this happens the price of diesel fuel declines due to a surplus of diesel fuel oil on the open U.S. Market. This is very good for truckers and anyone else that uses diesel! I know this because I used to drive fuel tanker truck and trailer.
  • California and Nevada diesel has been like .20 cents cheaper then gasoline.
  • Diesel was 10 cents cheaper than unleaded for ONE WEEK now it's back at $3.99….I filled up 200 gallons in the bus when it dropped so I saved a cool 20 bucks….

  • Well, I'm sorry to say that here in central Florida the price of diesel isn't getting any closer to that of gas!!:(

  • Why not they don't need heating oil now and we are seeing the advent of the truckers going to NG.
Anytime the price goes down it is time to travel!
  • Up until about two weeks ago same thing in California. But the prices have gone up just in time for the 4th of July holiday travel.

    Can you say conspiracy ?
