Being from cold country I've learned my lesson and add both an anti gel and biocide and let it sit. Additionally with all the cracked manifolds on the isc no need to stress it with large temperature changes with periodic startups in the middle of winter. It's the fuel which has caused most if not all of the issues I've had in the spring and since I've used the additives I have had no spring issues.
although iam certainly not against fuel additives one has to realize if your tanks clean and the fuel is clean fuel additives will have no bearing on any spring start issues
the can that was alluded to was regarding farm tractors that used to have vertical exhaust stacks with no cover. nothing to do with a horizontal tail pipe
