dimestic refirigerater

last fall we bought 1999 Bounder . It has a side by side domestic refrigerator. It worked fine last fall. Now that im getting it ready for the camping season, the frige doesn't want to get cold. Im new to the fancy camper game so any help would be appreciated.

  • Is that all you have to worry about ? How sad. Get a life!!!!!!
  • Ok the fuses are good , I have 12 volts to the fridge. I can't see any yellow residue. I disconnected the 12 volt system last week because the terminals were corroded. After that the fridge didn't get cold. I have shut it down and started it back up. I will check on it again this time tomorrow. Thanks for all the help.
  • remember that once turned on it takes up to 24 hours for these units to get fully cold
  • Clarification, please. Is it an RV "Dometic" fridge that runs on propane or electricity or a house-type "domestic" fridge that runs only on 115v electricity?

If it's the former, then you may have an expensive problem on your hands. We did, two seasons ago, at which point the fridge was starting its 11th season. We found it dead when we powered up the RV two days before departure for the first trip of the season. We went on the trip anyway, but must have stopped at every supermarket on the Oregon coast to buy ice. After we got home, we had a new Dometic fridge installed - close to $1800!

If it s "domestic" household fridge, which would be unusual in a rig from 1999, then it might just be a tripped circuit breaker.
  • You must have 12v first, then either 110v or Lp gas for the heater part.

if you do not have a manual then get it here.
