During all the phone calls did find out something interesting about the pay as you go accounts. It a twist on the accounts they set up for people with poor credit and what DISH considers a risk of non-payment. Pre paid rather than post paid.
If you have any problems, try contacting one of the "DIRT" (DISH Internet Response Team) members via PM on one of the forums below. They can usually get problems straightened out, or at least give you a reasonable explanation of what needs to be done. They've solved a few problems for me when the regular CS folks were either ill-informed or just baffled.
