What I did was install an 800 watt invertor behind the AC breaker panel where the convertor is located. The convertor has heavy cables feeding power to the house batteries and DC distribution so I have a good power source to get DC to the invertor. I cut the AC cable coming off the breaker that feeds the outlet for the entertainment systems and added a male and female plugs. Male going to the outlets female on the side coming from the breaker. Normally the plugs are together but if I want to run off the invertor I unplug from the breaker panel and plug into the inverter.
If you go with an invertor just ensure where ever you install it has good ventilation. It will get warm and if too warm cook it's self to death.
