Most all of these problems could be traced to poor maintenance by the owner. Now, I'm not saying the OP was lacking in maintenance, but i am saying there is more to this story than one persons venting. How many fuel filters did he install in that 84K miles? Did he get water in His fuel? How many oil changes has he performed? Did he use the right grade of oil? Has he let the motor idle for extended periods of time? Did he fail to let the turbo cool before shut down after a hard pull? Did he let the motor lug around or did he try to keep the RPM's up? See too many unanswered questions to blindly blame Cummins for a bad product. Especially after 11 years.
