Throw those batteries away or you will be doing this repair again within a very short period of time. They probably are weak, have developed small leaks around the post and possibly slight case leaks. Mine developed a microscopic leak where the buckle for the tie down strap was touching the side of the case. Having cleaned a lot of battery trays during my career it was sometimes easier for me and cheaper for the customer to just replace the tray.
