Disposal of human waste

Sorry for the asking this question, but it is the reality for parents with kids . Our class B has no toilet (removed by previous owner) so we purchased a portable toilet . It has zip bags which you can tightly zip the bag and dispose it after you are done. We only allow the kids to use it in case of an emergency . I understand the law does not allow to dispose human waste in water stream , but can you throw it in the park's trash bin ? I feel guilty for putting in the the trash container because I witnessed many times that homeless people find things in the public trash cans (in downtown LA where I work, some homeless people even dig through the trash bins for foods)

How do you handle this ?

thanks

  • "Instead of the type of bag you have, you might try some of Cleanwaste's products."

Yes, sometimes referred to as a Wag Bag. It Will Solve your problem as the US Forest Service welcomes them in their trash containers!

    Bud
  • As someone in a previous post mentioned - what do people do with their bagged doggie doo-doo?

The fact that some people go dumpster diving would not stop me from using the dumpster.

They wrap them tightly and leave them in the fire pit for the host to cleanup! (At least some do.)
  • My advice is to get a porta potty that you can dump down any toilet/outhouse and get rid of the bag system. Disgust/health/environmental factors aside, why use something for which you have to buy an endless supply of bags?

Porta potties are cheap, complete, and sanitary in terms of disposal. What more could the responsible camper ask for?
