Will the slide scratch - maybe, see sailor_lou's advice. In my house, the Pergo is almost 15 yrs old. Most of it is still like new, but there is a section where a wooden rocker scratched it due to sand/grit under the rockers. In the kitchen area, to prevent water penetration, I glued the edges together when putting it down, making it one big slab that was still free to float over the underlayment, and expand and contract along all the edges next to the walls/cabinets. In other areas, I do have a couple of spots where the board ends pulled away from each other over the years, leaving some small but noticeable gaps. Probably should have glued it everywhere.....RV frames flex, so glueing flooring/tile down to the subfloor just seems to be inviting later troubles.
