- dblrExplorerWith most of the new units here having power awnings we do not see much of this, power awnings are not as safe and secure to have out in winds as the old manual ones. I do have a tie down system with poles to secure mine but if winds get much above 25mph I stow mine away.

Basically your making the awning as the basis of a " tent" when it is very hot it acts as a shade cloth. You can have air-conditioning running into it.As well it is a very big room that adds to the slideouts.
