Have towed my HHR, with automatic transmission, close to 40,000 miles so far with no problems. The HHR does have the steering and ignition switch recall and now I just got a notice of another recall for the airbag connector. The recalls are not that big of a deal since they can be taken care of at any GM dealer, even while you are on the road. The book says tow at 65 max but that is more of a CYA than a hard and fast rule. I usually tow at 70 MPH and things are doing well.
