Does ANYONE have this same EXACT door awning?
Ladies and Gents,
I'm having an issue with my over-the-door awning and, in doing research on how to remedy my issue, I'm having a hard time identifying just what model it is. All of the awnings on our coach, are electric. We have one for the patio, one for the slide out on the other side, one for the door and, one for the bedroom window. All of them are supposed to be the top of the line "Carefree".
They all have "Carefree of Colorado" as a large decal on each one. The door one, in our paperwork with the coach, is labeled as a "Mirage" model. But, the paperwork does not correspond with the actual awning. I have emailed Carefree and, while they (the one lady in Customer service) has done as much as she can in trying to help identify it, she's still way off.
She claims it is either a Marquee or, Freedom. Both of those, are nothing like what I have. And, the Freedom was produced for a while but, became the Marquee in later years. But in either case, those two versions, have what's called a "tubular motor". Where as the motor in ours, is a standard motor, almost identical to the Kwikee step motor and, our step slide motor.
Ours has no "limit" switches or, adjustments of any type for limiting the "IN" or, the "OUT" travel and stops, like other versions do.
Ours also has no provisions for manually retracting like some do. If the motor quits, and the awning is out, you're screwed unless you simply remove the awning from the coach. You can try and duct tape it I guess.
But, in any case, what I'd like from any of you is if, you have THE EXACT SAME DOOR AWNING, Not close, not "almost" but, EXACT, to tell me what any of your paperwork or, owners manual(s) tells you what the model it is and, have corresponding literature that proves what it is. Carefree has no records of producing any "Mirage", over the door awning. Yet, my literature or, owners manual says right on it,
Owners manual for Mirage, Over the Door Awning. And, inside that manual for mounting instructions, it refers to the awning as the Mirage, many times. Carefree does produce and, has produced the Mirage PATIO awning for years but, claims they never used the name Mirage in reference to an over the door awning.
These awnings were installed at the factory, on our coach. The build sheet stipulates all the awnings. But, again, something's not right because part numbers and serial numbers don't jive with what the lady at Carefree is looking at.
The coach is an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT. It is equivalent to the Winnebago Vectra of that same model/year. I'd sure appreciate any help here identifying it.
