Hi,
There will be a fuse or circuit breaker in the circuit as well as the isolator.
The isolator in my RV developed burned contacts and failed in less than ten months.
I had two fuse failures before I upgraded to a self resetting circuit breaker.
If you want *lots* of charging it may be a good idea to beef up the wiring. I chose to add a second charging path. I do push the current up to over 70 amps for short periods of time.
I do have manual control over the charging solenoids. I do monitor the charging current and can limit the demand on the alternator. Some day I'd love a bigger alternator.
