"ichuvdov".....Monacos of that era charge the house batteries while driving as everyone has stated, as long as the system is working properly. What your coach WON'T do is charge the engine/chassis batteries while parked and PLUGGED into shore power. Monaco didn't upgrade to that function for several years. You can easily have your batteries go dead in a week or two from parasitic draw, even if you're plugged in.
I suspect that the previous owner may have corrected this issue. Do a similar test as described by WOlfe10. With the coach plugged in and the engine off, turn on some high draw items and then check the engine/chassis batteries to see if they're getting a charge.
If not, many of us bought something like this Xantrex. It automatically charges your engine/chassis batteries while plugged into shore power. You may have one already or one similar. They're usually mounted in the battery bay on one of the walls.
