Generally, you are going to put the drive wheels on the dolly so they stay stationary and the driveline doesn't rotate.
Works great for front wheel drive.
Would for rear wheel drive if you dared to tow it backwards!
Four wheel drive, not so much... all 4 wheels need to rotate (or not rotate) at the same speed
