Dometic Macerator Toilets Installed After 2015

Just how reliable or problematic are macerator toilets? My unit comes with a Dometic and I'm hoping it is a newer version of the model 8700 series toilet which is virtually identical to the 2014 model except it has a 2 in. Hole at bottom which allows waste to drop straight down to the impeller.
