Dometic NPR 1292 Ice Maker

I have just ordered a Samsung RF18 to replace by Dometic fridge and will be advertising the Dometic for sale prior to having it removed. The Dometic works perfectly and has a recently replaced cooling unit.

However, the Dometic does not have the ice maker kit installed and in order to advertise it truthfully I would like to know what it would take to have an ice maker installed. Just looking at it it seems pretty simple especially when it's out of the coach but I just don't know for sure.

Appreciate any info on this subject.

Thanks in advance.

I guess I don't understand what he means by advertising "truthfully". You advertise a RV refer. You either list the icemaker or not. WHY would you have to know or care about an Icemaker Install cost and availability?????? Except for Norcold Freezers That the Icemaker is mounted on the back wall(using the freezer plate screws already there), both Norcold and Dometics DO NOT have the mount holes for the Icemaker in the freezer compartment. You will have to drill and install the screws in the plastic wall. Doug

Just as an FYI, there are four hex head screws already installed in the metal plate on the freezer sidewall that appear to be for the harvester and two plugged holes in the back wall that appear to be for the water inlet and the other is for????? Perhaps the wire harness??

As to why I care, I guess I'm still in the "solve issues before they become problems mode" from my days of working with clients.

Yeah, likely one hole is for the water tube, the other for the wiring harness. The wiring harness supplies 120Vac to the ice maker motor, heater, and powers the water valve mounted in the outside cabinet. As Doug points out, some refers won't have the mounting holes or access holes.

If you're collecting info, here's a link to my ice maker repair story in the RV repair section of my travel blog. There are a couple schematics that are handy as reference.
