That gasket has nothing to do with water intrusion. That gasket just separates the INTAKE(hot air) from the Exhaust(cold air). That gasket is NOT special. When you do any type top down AC gasket or AC replacement, you use an EXTRA AC gasket. Cut out the one side and fit as your pic shows to separate the intake from the exhaust. Now, the 4 blue squares I will assume are the gasket pieces that go between the bottom of the mount pan and the roof, with the mount lag bolts going thru them. THAT seals the AC unit lag bolts when the AC is secured down. I will bet, THOSE 4 squares were not used and they just ran the lag bolts into the roof. Now, $120 for that kit. The extra Dometic AC gasket COMES with the required parts for about $20. You are right, a QUALIFIED TECH and shop would have done the job right for about $100 less in parts. I always advise my customers, IF the shop has no knowledge or has never done a particular job, GO ELSEWHERE. Find a Shop that HAS knowledge of that product. Doug (working on Newmars for 27 years)
