I was contacted by the dealer. They also noted the temperature in the frig went up when on propane. They said the cooling unit needed to be replaced.
X2. IF the refer operates to spec on 120, but NOT on LP and your so called Service center states that indicates a new cooling unit. Then do NOT leave your unit there and do not trust them anymore. There is NOTHING in a CU that will not respond to LP versus 120. ALL LP and 120 does is supply the heat source. You either have LOW LP pressure and/or a dirty clogged LP orifice or burner. Also, not likely, IF the flue baffle is gone or damaged, the LP flame will not heat the flue correctly. Also, IF the CU was defective, the refer would NEVER get DOWN to a correct temp. As to your previous question about 12 volts. The 12 volts is MINIMAL and is only required to operate the various controls on the refer which pull MILLIAMPS. Do you have a ESC (extended service contract)? If so, and the dealer knows this, they may be just throwing an expensive part at it because the ESC may pay for it. I doubt any ESC would pay for a CU when they are told it works on 120 but not on LP. Even an ESC knows that this is not a bad CU. Doug
