I agree with your mantra but I think the 3 year old rule is a little stringent. With RV's I'll consider 10 years because I have personally seen 'many' really nice older RV's.
I also was privy to be at the same CG at the same time there was a Bluebird Rally and I am here to tell you I would have given my eye teeth to own one of those, circa 70's! :W
