My Chevy has a turbo...owners manual says to run 87 octane. I do...no problems. Chevy DOES, however, specify a certain oil additive...I guess for the turbo..and getting that is no problem. Many brands have it. I just make sure it's listed on the bottle.
However...my Harley says 87 is fine. No so. Riding the bike...87 works just fine. However...turning the motor off...it keeps running . ("Dieseling", it's called). Put 93 in..stops it. And...for a max of 4 gallons or so for a fillup, the extra money is nothing.
