Well I have seen post in the past from folks that have double towed in areas where it was illegal as to it has to be 5th wheel or length law and they got by just fine, I use to double tow and than went this route but the heavy steel trailer is just a bear to move around and miss the light weight boat trailer but hated double tow, I am stuck in-between 2 worlds here.
I was also thinking of selling the Jeep and stacker trailer and getting a midsize truck and setting it up to carry a trailer/boat, this would solve the double tow issue and the heavy steel stacker trailer..
Was thinking maybe something like these pics below but on a midsize truck since my boat/trailer would only be 1000 lbs and smaller.
