We bought our 9 year old rig from a private party and it was pristine. We also had it inspected and didn't put any money into an extended warranty as I took the advice of a number of people on this forum and, put the $3500 into a savings account and added a bit every month. Seven months later the left rear axle seal went out and we had to replace that and the brakes on that side. From there over the next year I spent almost $7K on repairs and MOST of them would have been covered. Bit the bullet last July and spent $3200 for a cornerstone warranty and 4 months later the cooling unit on the fridge went out and was FULLY covered. The other day, I took it in and they are gonna cover replacing the seals on the jacks, the jack motor and the starter on the genie to the tune of $2500. So yes, when you buy a used unit, no matter how nice it is, that is out of warranty, invest in a good aftermarket insurance policy.
