The FC's and SP's both came with Cat 3208's - which would be more in the 7-9MPG range vs the 5-6MPG for a 6/8V92 Detroit. The PT's and WB's came with the Detroit engines.
You can also get a Bluebird BMC (essentially this is a Wanderlodge built on a Spartan Chassis) with an 8.3L Cummins that would get 7-8MPG if you are willing to go up to $35-45K.
Also, I will note that fuel is probably the cheapest part of owning a motorhome.
