Driver seat issue

A big ol' thumbs up for recer99's advice from here. It took me a year to stop trying to make a schedule. I realized that, hey, I'm retired, why be in such a hurry? So relaxing after that. Some days, I don't even bother to make a destination...it's just the journey after all. Gives me the freedom to turn left, right, or head straight. Now days, I seldom drive more than 350 odd miles.

In 13 days, I will retire and we plan to heed your advice.

Try driving less miles per day-we cut our driving to 250 miles a day it makes a big difference to relax while driving instead of flying down the interstate to get to a location--We also have been driving more red roads lately so I can enjoy more scenery-- If its like work it may not be enjoyable

What make of seat do you speak of?
Would not mind spending that kind of $ if It did the job.
Heck I think my $ share of my last MRI was about that much.

It's not so much the big bumps, but the constant pounding that's killin me.

I think they do more than that. This blog explains a lot on how the ride etc. improves with those Sumo springs.

Get 2 good air ride seats with for and aft rocking motion. Keep your old ones to put back in when you trade. I drove 18 wheelers for 33 years. Air seats are are God send.
The last seat I bought cost almost 1K but lasted 13 years over 1 million miles and I sold it when I retired for $800.

OP, the shocks work in tandem with the springs...ie, they "dampen" spring motion regardless of the amount of initial travel. Softer shocks may help, or not. Or may reduce the "roughness" at the expense of handling/road feel. Tough call.

I have to figure that Flexsteel seats are not all equal. Those are the seats that I yanked out of my coach and GAVE to a member on this forum. They were so bad that I didn't feel right charging anyone any money for them. They were only a few years old and had every possible adjustment you could imagine. The seat foam would bottom out on a steel plate and it was like sitting on a hard surface. That is why I ordered custom made seats and gave the Flexsteel seats away. To me they are overpriced pieces of junk.
