We have been caught in snow once while driving. Being from So Cal I have no experience with driving in snow. We were in Utah and going over a mountain, from Boulder to Torrey I think. It started snowing about half way up the mountain. There was no one else on the road so I slowed way down. By the time we got to the summit there was about 3-4 inches on the road and it was snowing moderately. The only thing I kept thinking about was, keep it moving and don’t make sudden turns or brake hard.
Once we got low enough it stopped snowing and was only raining. I had the defroster on full heat and high fan the whole time to keep the windshield clear and it did fine.
It snowed that night in Torrey and we were nice and warm in the MH. Dual pane windows and good insulation make a world of difference. The main area we loose heat is from the windshield which is single pane glass. The curtains help there. We were so comfy over night that we were surprised to be covered in about 6” of snow in the morning when we woke up. Really pretty scene.
if we traveled in snow frequently chians or www.autosock.com would be part of our supplies.
