Up until my grandson got his DL, I had three vehicles, 2002 Winnie Adventurer, 1997 F150 and a 1995 Sidekick. The Winnie sways and I tend to over correct in a turn when it does, only solution is attitude, drive slower, the F150 I can push through a corner just like a sedan, the sidekick is short and upright and it is way under powered and fells like it will break loose any second, solution drive slower.
My point is all three feel different and the RV and towed feel better when driven 5 to 10 MPH slower that on flat level straight roads. I did the CHF on the RV, helped a lot. Of course the towed has a high speed/low torque engine and 3K at 60-65 MPH is not like the sound of a truck that tends to be the opposite, low RPM/high MPH.
Last week I was south bound on 101 in central PR coast, driving the RV/Towed with traffic 50 to 55. It's busy on the 101 here and the constant slow down, speed up of tourists and tailgating by the 4 wheelers that hate tall, wide RVs drove me nuts. Slowed down to 45-50 and used turnouts every time there were three cars behind me and it was like taking two Hydrocodone. I love the height advantage of the RV and I put the arm rest down and smiled at being in control again
It just came to me, I like slow and cool. It's all attitude.
