Dry upholstery fabric- how to restore?

I have a 2001 Winnebago Brave and we'd like to see if there's any product that might help the upholstery fabric feel less "dry" or "brittle"? Any suggestions appreciated!

  • I believe that the ScotchGard stain preventer was being used on every kind of fabric in 2001. It worked but it also was like a clear coating on the fabric. I'm not sure that it can be removed but you might check with an upholstery shop about redoing your furniture with new fabric. It might be less than you think.
  • I've had it all steamcleaned. I think it's got something to do with that era of Herculon type fabrics- it just has some dry, plastic feel. I was hoping someone had a spray "restorer" or something that would give the poly fibers some kind of newer feel.
  • Sounds like it just may need cleaning. Try a fabric cleaner on a small part of the fabric to test for any change.
