You can tie down an electric awning but personally I don't see why you would want to. My Carefree Eclipse will just billow back in windy conditions and it will dump heavy rain. If the weather is going to be really bad with very high winds, I just pull it in.
I'm also a proponent of never leaving the awning out when you are away from the rv.
