1. Typically, rain will not pool on an electric awning as they have an ability to 'Kneel" at one end with the weight of water.
2. Awning manufacturers tell you not to tie down your awning for the same reason ladder maker put so many decals on their product.
3. If you use common sense there should be no problem.
