- johnsonbertExplorerWe had considered this as an option when we had some medical surprises to deal with that are consuming a lot of storage space. We looked at an all aluminum trailer as most acceptable because it gave you about 1000# more payload ability on the 7000# trailer. It weighed about 2500 vs 3500 for a steel trailer. The price difference was not that much and there were several manufacturers in the upper Midwest that made them. We had looked most seriously at a 24 ft long (20' box)8'wide and a 4' V nose over the tongue. Hope this might help, Happy trails, Bert
- capndan77ExplorerI won't suggest a brand as there are so many. We have a Haulmark which has been great and there are any number of dealers and service centers. Whatever brand you get, over size it. We find that it not only carries the vehicle but we also carry a tool box, a couple kayaks and a variety of gear. Add a full tank of gas on the vehicle and you have a lot of weight. Pay attention to the width of your jeep vs width of the trailer. Too narrow means climbing out the roof or window! Just a thought.
