Whatever brand you get, over size it.
great advice. our 2007 JK is only 14' long, but 4' of unused space gives us the option of balancing the jeep over the axles for better tongue weight. so we are now looking at 8.5'X18' they are only a couple hundred bucks more..thanks. - Tom_BarbExplorer II

Why? U-haul has no problems with the surge brakes, Why would I be different?
I would go with the electrics myself but if you really don't like them then maybe you could get an electric over hyd. disc system.
I'd go with a air brake system If I could get a trailer under a bilzillion feet long :)
I've had enough brake controller failures over the years that cause enough tire flat spots that I could have bough several surge / disk brakes kits. a complete 4 wheel surge brake kit is only $900.00 and the disk set up is much better than shoes .
The only grade that has given me any heating to worry about is the grade off Carcross Yt. to Skagway Ak. (20 some miles of 6%) - Tom_BarbExplorer II

I dont think your getting a Jeep in a 16ft trailer. I have a 20x8.5 and my 4 seat polaris is 12 plus ft and doesnt leave as much room as you would think.
My JK is exactly 7 feed wide, and 14 feet long. 8.5'X16' will work great. - Tom_BarbExplorer II

Double check on the allowable tongue weight/max trailer weight on your coach.
Max tongue weight = 1k, allowable towing 10k - 2bzy2cExplorer II

I'm really over electric brakes, any thoughts about surge brakes? we rented a U-Haul car hauler once, and it worked great with no worries about dragging wheels at stops. Yes I have a new electronic brake controller and am not happy with it. we are thinking 16' X 8.5' will work best. that gives us a couple feet for stuff.
Your Jeep assuming it is a Wrangler is about 12'5" long. Not much room left over. Not sure if that takes the spare tire into consideration. - ScottGNomad

X-2, on the Haulmark I don't own one but my neighbor does and he swears by it! He hauls his Corvette around in it!
I won't suggest a brand as there are so many. We have a Haulmark which has been great and there are any number of dealers and service centers. Whatever brand you get, over size it. We find that it not only carries the vehicle but we also carry a tool box, a couple kayaks and a variety of gear. Add a full tank of gas on the vehicle and you have a lot of weight. Pay attention to the width of your jeep vs width of the trailer. Too narrow means climbing out the roof or window! Just a thought. - Tom_BarbExplorer III'm really over electric brakes, any thoughts about surge brakes? we rented a U-Haul car hauler once, and it worked great with no worries about dragging wheels at stops.
