How long to engine batteries last. Mine gave up at 4 years, getting 2 new ones from Sam's in the morning

This past June I replaced the dying Everstart engine battery in our coach that was installed in 2004 by a previous owner. Surprisingly, when I pulled it out, I found that it was an Everstart Marine battery, not a true starting battery. I replaced it with an Everstart MAXX Group 27 starting battery. The OEM battery in our 2002 RAV4 was also replaced then, also with an Everstart MAXX.
