How long to engine batteries last. Mine gave up at 4 years, getting 2 new ones from Sam's in the morning

I have the original starting batteries in my 2005 travel supreme. They are the sealed no maintenance battery but I keep a trickle charger on them permanently.Discharges from long term storage will kill a battery slowly but surely.
