Jim, good to hear from you again on RV.Net! Since both floor plans are close to each other then, I would give the engine more consideration. I've owned both engines in RV's and I would hands down select Chevy over Ford! I owned a Ford V-10 Triton in one of my RV's and I had trouble with the spark plugs coming out of the engine block. I've never had a problem with my 8.1 Chevy Vortec 496 C.I. and I've owned it for 12 years now. My Chevy engine picks up horsepower a lot quicker than the Ford engine that I owned.
