THIS is the reason so many get extended warranties even though there are a lot of others who say don't. If you are the one in a million who will have this massively expensive repair, you are awfully glad you have it. Imagine how the OP would be feeling if he had not purchased an extended warranty. I'm glad it's working out for him.
