Yes, that was the first clue. Bolted it back together, thought maybe it acted as a heatsink. Fan started to work. Started driving and it overheated again and the fan had stopped. Had a mobile mechanic looking at it for almost 6 hrs and he first said it was bad and then pulled it out and tested it and said it was good. He thought maybe it was the pump. He got the fan going. Drove it around again and started overheating. He gave up and said to take it to freightliner.
I still thought it was the fan control module and after talking to Freightliner in Gaffney SC, the Tech also confirmed that he thought that is what it was...
Just got to get a part now and give it a try... Gave up on the vacation until we know it is fixed for sure..
