my check engine light does not come on, I know it works , it comes on when the key is first turned on, so I know the bulb is ok. The mod kit for the air filter to prevent water was installed in 2000 shortly after I bought the MH. Done at my local Ford dealership.
You guys got me interested in this coil pack you mentioned, some one in a campground in Florida mentioned that to me last year, he asked me if I ever had any go bad, his v10 had to have 2 replaced since he had it, but I never had anything done in that area since I bought the MH. I bought it new in 1999 and the plugs have never been changed not any coil packs. I was planning to get that done this winter when I get back down south, but not at the dealership who told me my engine was shot.
I think they knew that I had 3 weeks to get back to Canada and I would jump at anything they said, so they may have thought that here is a good chance to sell an new engine.
I just hope it makes it back to Florida in December, thank heavens for road side assistance
