Thanks for all replies.
I will make sure all the seam sealant is in good shape and then cover with Eternabond. I would think that once the tape is installed it will prevent UV light from destroying the sealant and the roof will be very secure for many years. I was thinking 2" along the sides and 4" over the top ends just like suggested by many of you.
