I like boomersooner's suggestion. Create the opportunity to use it for a few days before you finalized owning it.
I got burned on a new 5th wheel (CrossRoads), I didn't pay much attention during the delivery process and ended up with a unit with lots of problems. To make matters worse, the dealer was an hour from home and drop-off/pick-up could only be done during business hours. That meant taking time off word twice and still not getting everything fixed.
When we traded for a new Winnebago MH, at delivery time I took along a thorough checklist (found on internet) and before I signed the papers I spend a few hours on their lot going over everything on the list. They are VERY accommodating for fixing problems when they don't have your money yet. I actually delayed pickup (and money) while they replace the awning that didn't work properly.
You hold all the cards (money) before you finalized the deal. Use that to your advantage.
I think this strategy would hold especially true if buying a used (no warranty) coach.
